Course Overview
Students learn how to create Web Services and Web Service Clients using Java technologies in the Java Web Services Course. XML name spaces, XML Schema, SOAP, and WSDL are introduced in the class before Web Service Client or Server Side programming in Java API’s and tools is covered. This course focuses particularly on JAX-WS.
Pre-Requisite
Both a solid Command of the Java programming language and a working knowledge of XML are required of students. The prerequisite knowledge for this course is Core Java and Advanced Java for students.
Course Objective
Recognize the relationship between Web services and SOA.
Become familiar with the XML, XML Schema, SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI pillar Web service specifications.
Learn about design principles and recommendations for writing Web service interface papers.
Learn how to create Java Web services with the JAX-WS API.
Observe how Java objects correspond to WSDL and Schema elements.
Recognize and Comprehend the Variations between Document styled services and RPC.
Learn to create and test highly interoperable Web services.
